day at the museum

Our friend Will from Kansas City dropped by over the weekend. It was great to see him, and we spent Saturday in Denver at the art museum.

The current exhibit is about mud. Yep, mud.

So there were lots of mud and clay creations.

This is actually a floor made of loose pieces that are all fit together. It was pretty cool, and we all had to test it out!

Off the mud subject, this piece thrills me. Can you believe it’s an oil painting? In real life, the only part that looks painterly is the bit of clothing to the right. But even that looks perfectly photographic here. I’m amazed.

Zia had an absolute blast with Will. She kept saying, “Man, I’m freaking out. I’m freaking out, Dude.”

David grilled steak and onions and corn on the cob. The carnivores in the bunch all said it was delicious. (What is Caleb doing?)

We all had an awesome weekend together, then Will headed back to the flatlands.
