horses of a different color

Her drawings are always changing, evolving, over time. The layering of bodies, the facial expressions, and all the little details that make each animal or person unique reflect her growing ideas.  As much as I loved her monotone stage, the addition of different colors is exciting to me.  She doesn’t like to be called an artist, though–I’ve made that mistake too many times.

“I’m not going to be an artist.  I’m going to be a mama.”

Oh, but mamas make the best art.

Well, she can be a mama AND an artist because she’s a girl and we are the masters of multi-tasking.
