We are here in our snowy wonderland, slowly shoveling ourselves out.  We have a nice path shoveled to the end of the driveway, so we can check the mail.

Here is the bottom of the driveway.  The path we hacked makes a great sledding path for the kids!

When we go out early in it, there is something about this snow that feels an awful lot like Christmas morning.  That’s a strange feeling, considering it’s April.

But then, the locals say April is the second snowiest month here, after March. Woo-hoo.

This area here inside the fence is actually completely flat, and the ground is level with the bottom of the fence posts. The wind has made the drifts several feet high.

It’s not a huge snow for Colorado, but it still feels like a lot to get all at once–just when we were hoping spring was finally here!

For now, we’ll keep on shoveling.  And wait for spring–again.  More snow is in the forecast for this weekend and Monday, but (hopefully) April snows will bring May thaws!
