kids craft: horse trailer

If you are in need of a new toy, never underestimate the power of a tissue box and a string.

Zia was desperate for a new project the other day, and the only materials I could come up with was this recently emptied tissue box from the bathroom and a piece of yarn. We cut off the top, cut a door in the back, added a masking-tape latch and tied on the string. Ta-da: horse trailer extraordinaire. Wheel-less no doubt, but the girl doesn’t seem to care. The horse trailer has been dragged all over town, and kids everywhere stare in awe and ask for one of their own. I’m serious.

I’m always amazed at how fulfilling it is for kids to play with toys they make themselves (or ones they help make). It really seems to double the fun and the time spent playing. So don’t throw that next tissue box away!

Happy trails!

If I hadn’t seen that little girl at the park ask you for her very own horse trailer, I would have NOT believed it!!! Kids are strange aminals.
