weather caper

Posted on March 20th, 2010 by mountain girl  |  9 Comments »

Yesterday we worked all day in the garden (we were in tank tops by afternoon) and then hopped in the Mini, cranked the top down, and zipped down Highway 71 to the KC Community Garden to grab some seeds.

Unfortunately, we never got a chance to get the seeds in the ground.

Today, Zia put on her snow pants and we both went stomping around…in 6 inches of snow! It snowed all day, and it’s still snowing now. Needless to say, this picture of us is not today…but it’s a nice winter memory!

Yeah, you yankees deserve a break from the snow! It’s warming up again now…we’ll probably have a flood from all the snow!

Same thing happened here! One day it was nice and warm and we went on a bike trip. The next day there is snow everywhere… spring, if you hear this, please come back!

Ha ha! I know, what’s up with THAT?? Does it do that in Switzerland, too? šŸ™‚

You know Switzerland is funny. In the mountains there is always a lot of snow, but I never lived in the mountains. šŸ™‚ In Zurich there is very little snow on general. As far as I can tell Iowa is a lot “weirder” whether wise. I don’t think I ever felt like it can be “summer” or “winter” for one day when I lived in Zurich. But Iowa… you never know! haha

Ha ha…I have those overlooked-spelling days all the time!
My husband and I spent a week in Switzerland one summer. It was so beautiful! We were in Zurich, Bern, Interlaken, Lucern, Wiler, and several other small towns. We loved the Alps…stayed in a little chateau in Elm. Now I’m jealous of myself, lol!

That sounds lovely! I have been to all those places… I guess that does not mean much since you can travel across the whole country within 4 hours. haha It is easy to get around. But that is part of what I love about it, within a couple of hours you are in a new world. Going back to Switzerland anytime soon? I highly recommend visiting Ticino. It is like little Italy. Probably my favorite place in Switzerland. Google Lugano and you will know what I mean! šŸ™‚
