tooth fairy pillow

Thursday afternoon I made this little pocketed pillow for Zia’s tooth. The tooth just had that look, you know–and I figured I’d better get my fairy act together.

Maybe it was coincidence, maybe mother’s intuition, maybe the 45-degree angle with which it protruded from her mouth as she headed off to school, but it came out that evening over spaghetti dinner.

She had a lovely new bus story–the bus went over a crack in the road and she whacked her tooth hard against the wall of the bus. She was so excited it came out and kept saying how glad she was for that crack in the road.

I gave her the tooth fairy pillow and she loved it. She had to get all the details of how I made each part, when I made it, and finally, exactly why I made it. She put it under her pillow (because that’s where a tooth goes, even when it has its own pillow).

At 5:30 in the morning she came racing to me in the bathroom, clutching the bulging-pocketed pillow. Inside she found a heart-shaped ring pop (thanks, Granny) and a bit of cash.

Now, if it’s not my imagination, that other front tooth is sitting at kind of a strange angle. Sigh. This tooth fairy job really keeps you flying around.

How exciting! I love the tooth fairy pillow… ADORABLE.

Isn’t it funny how they seem to lose multiple teeth in spurts? My oldest lost her bottom two teeth just three days apart!

Thanks for sharing (such lovely pictures too).

    Wishing you a lovely day.
    xoxo

    Mia,
The pillow is so cute!!!! I’m gunna have to make a pink one like this when my girl starts loosing teeth!
It is a big job to keep up with!!!
Depending on how much the fairy leaves… your kid could have a nice chunk of money in a few months time! lol
The fairy will be visiting again soon for that second front tooth!!!
