moose in the meadow

David and Caleb came across this huge moose yesterday.Ā  He roared at them.Ā  I would have been just a little frightened, but of course the big strong hunters weren’t the teensiest bit afraid.

They were wishing they had a moose license, but I’m glad they didn’t.Ā  Moose meat just doesn’t hold a candle to the beauty of a creature like this. Lion may be king of the jungle, but I think Moose must be king of the forest.

The moose didn’t seem to care that they were there–he finally just lay down in his matted grass bed to rest. Ni-night, Mr. Moose.

Oh wow! That trumps our “deer in the field” But yeah… I would have been a little scared if a moose roared at me.. especially if it was rutting season.. even the deer can get nasty then.

I once saw a cow and her calf on the side of the road in Canada. Everyone was snapping pictures until the mama made a kind of roaring sound to tell them to get back. They are really cute but can be pretty scary no?

    Misty,
Yes, moose can be aggressive! I never knew that they roared before this. This bull ended up following the guys through the woods and even ran alongside them for a while. Yikes!
