solar prints

Zia got this solar print paper from one of her friends at her birthday party.

It sat on the table for a while, but when Caleb got back, he whipped her into action and they collected some leaves and flowers and made prints.

These are sweet as is, but they would also look cool with some added artwork inside the shapes.  After seeing them, I’ve also got a hankering to make some leaf rubbings and watercolor them.  These shapes would be amazing with loads of saturated color running together inside their borders.

I’m excited to hit the forest for part of our school day, once Caleb goes back to school.  After that I’ll see more of Zia than a blur that looks more like a noon shadow of big bro than a separate person.

Right now I’m letting them both run as free as possible.  School days will be here before we know it!
