cheer up, mate

Well, here I am to say I am still alive and have not fallen off the edge of the world…yet.

Yesterday we had our first bit of snow. Enough to feel like winter but not enough to stick and be pretty. The leaves have mostly turned brown. I’m feeling a little cooped up and a bit under the weather. This is a sad, sad post, but maybe I can find a nice happy picture to brighten things up….

There, that did the trick! A silly Zia face as we were out walking with the stroller.

Here’s another. Where did this kid come from anyway?

And another. A bit grainy and blurry, but it captures her spunk and vigor so beautifully (as though the others don’t) and I just love that little glint of mischief in her eye. She proudly sports my headband which she insisted on wearing.

And this last one….simply because she’s such a beautiful pumpkin.

There, I feel better now. I’ve even thought of some happy things! Like the fact that the dishes are all washed, the diapers and other laundry is clean and folded, my 10 quarts of kitchen compost from the last few days have been trucked out to the compost bin and the 10 yogurt containers washed. And…..ta-da! our trash this week was zippo. Nada. Not even a zippy ziplock bagful. And my baby has had a nice, long, warm bathy (thanks to her loving dadda) and is now tucked into bed sleeping soundly.

Things really are looking up.
