frizz, garlic, and all

Just wanted to pop in and say hi. So often I don’t blog b/cause I want to put on a nice spread, you know, pics and all that. Which means I have to download the pics, clean them up, import them, resize, etc. And before that, I have to actually TAKE pictures, and before I can do that, I might have to charge the batteries, because I’m notoriously unprepared. So the days that pass have a way of turning into weeks before I feel “ready” enough to blog.

Sometimes that’s the way I pray too- when I feel good and clean, when my hair isn’t a frizzy mess, when my teeth are brushed so my naturally fragrant garlic breath is subdued a little. I wouldn’t want to offend Him, you know. I really should put my best foot forward.

How do I forget that He loves to see me when I’m dirty, frizzy, stinky and bedraggled? That though He’s a King, I can always have an audience with Him -whenever, wherever- and He’s always glad to see me. What king on earth is like that, and yet He’s the King of it all! He’s closer than my breath, and all I have to do is reach out, and He’s got me in His arms again. Yet I wait, waiting for the right time. Not really believing in His love, not really sure I’m good enough, right now.

So I just thought I’d give a little shout, say hey, I’m still here. In a pile of laundry, in a heap of dishes, in the tearful squeeze of a teething tot. Still here, still living and loving.

Still throwing myself, all of me, headfirst into the arms of a great King.

That is an awesome example of the way I think alot of people feel (me included) when we come before the throne. We think we need to be perfect.. but we forget the HE died on the cross for us because HE knew we are not perfect! One day we will! Sounds like you had a great time in NM, and it is such a joy to see that precious little girl of yours in pictures! Blessings!
