Mmmm…ready to bake something that smells really good?   These wintry little ornaments (for seeing and smelling, not eating!) will bring cozy aromas of cinnamon and spice to your house.

And…they’re super easy to make!

Just mix up the following ingredients:

1 cup cinnamon

1 cup applesauce

1 tablespoon school glue

Be sure to wear gloves, though. The cinnamon can really irritate your hands, especially if you have sensitive skin.

I love how strange and spiderman-ish my hand looks here! Almost like a wierd robot.

Roll out dough and cut. (We selected 4 cookie cutters from our collection, of course!)

We baked them at 200 F for about 2 hours, till they were pretty hard.

I nearly always line my cookie seets with parchment paper now. They really help with the cleanup. Although of course, I have really fond memories of growing up with our cookie sheets encrusted with the burnt offerings of years and years of cookie-baking…and scraping.

Before baking, Zia gave these the sniff-test.

They definitely passed.

They really do smell yummy. I’d better watch Zia to make sure she doesn’t eat these.

But, hey…school glue is non-toxic, right? 🙂
