for zia

I wanted Zia to have a little present to open when the baby comes.

I made her this nightie out of a soft scrap of knit fabric. It was easy-peasy and I whipped it up in about 20 minutes while she was sleeping.

She loves blue. I bought a pair of Zia symbol earrings (Green Tree Jewelry has the greatest tooled wooden earrings) and made one into a necklace.

I added her favorite gummy snacks to make a well-rounded little package and wrapped it all up.

Some of you have asked if Zia will be at the birth. We watched a movie about birthing to give her a little bit of preparation, but I really don’t have a set plan–I just want her to be happy and content and know that she’s a part of it all.

I asked her to pick out the baby’s first clothes and we put them in a little basket with some labor snacks. (The clothes are all blue, of course…although I’m a bit more inclined to think it’s a girl.)

We have new books and juggling balls and some little gifts from Mimi to keep our girl happy when the baby is on the way. And we’ll have some good Mamma + Girl + Baby snuggles as soon as possible.

So sweet! I think Zia is going to be the best big sister. That’s so cute she picked all blue clothes šŸ™‚ Maybe she’s in on the secret haha!

<3 I love her little gift from Mamma. We had the same "plan" for Bunny attending the birth… we would do what was best and made her happy at the moment. Turns out she was in and out during hard labor, wasn't in for the birth, but back in within moments… she was happy, I was happy.

This package for Zia is so sweet. I’ve been working on something for my Zinnia as well for when she meets her baby brother. Thinking of you this week.
